SYSTEM
Almost
all fires start small then grow in intensity very rapidly. In as little
as three minutes your lounge can be transformed into a raging inferno
with temperatures in excess of 800°C. With a Residential
Sprinkler System
installed, a rise in room temperature activates the sprinkler automatically,
delivering water directly onto the source of the fire and extinguishing
it before it has had a change to take hold.
Residential Sprinkler Systems are designed specifically for the domestic environment. The sprinkler heads are small, neat and are designed to be unobtrusive, looking very similar to a light fitting. They are connected by a system of hidden pipework to a main water supply.
Each sprinkler is individually triggered directly by the heat of a fire and the system will have gained control of the fire long before the Fire Brigade is even notified. Only the sprinkler directly affected by the fire goes off (NOT all of them), typically using only 10 gallons/minute of water to control the fire.

Most rooms only require a maximum of two sprinkler heads in order to provide sufficient protection. The process of installation will cause no more disruption than having a new central heating system installed.
Costs involved are dependant on the size of the system required and type of building concerned.
Generally, for the average installation in a new house, costs can be as low as £3 per square metre. Typically, a three bedroom modern house would cost in the region of £2,800, or the cost of new carpeting! There is a marginal increase in costs for an older house, typically in the region of £4.50 per square metre.

conversant with the system.
Sprinkler heads are fully approved for use with Domestic Sprinklers. The
'Blazemaster' plastic pipe and fittings is fully approved by the following
organisations: LPCB, UL and also the Water Research Centre. The main Valve
Control Box (Nimbus Fire Systems) is fully approved and conforms to BS
251.2000.
This equipment is now available in the UK and can be supplied and installed by the qualified staff of Kryscon Ltd.
